Know your Social Security Disability Settlement Rights

As a lawyer and law office in Portland Oregon, we have handled all manner of clients with Social Security disability claims.  Many our of our clients come to us unaware of the process involved in being designated as disabled according to Social Security rules. However, a disability is not only a physical disability but it can be other types of disability including the following:

Bipolar Disorder
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Fibromyalgia
Mental Illness
Organic Mental Disorder (Brain Injury)
Personality Disorder
Schizophrenia

It can be up to two years before an individual or his or her family will begin to collect on a Social Security disability claim. The process is as follows:

Initial Application
Application Accepted Or Denied
Request For Reconsideration
Reconsideration Accepted Or Denied
Request For A Hearing
Hearing
Appeals Council
File A Complain In US District Court

Once you are granted disability status, the Social Security Administration typically will do a review once every three years to determine whether or not you are still disabled.

As an experienced Social Security disability lawyer practicing in Portland Oregon and surrounding areas, we have obtained disability benefits in many instances. We take these cases on a contingency basis and do not charge a fee unless benefits are awarded.  We do however, charge our clients for the cost to obtain medical records.

If you are an individual who has become disabled and is not able to work, you are welcome to call us at any time, or contact us via the Internet.

Legal help is available. Don’t delay.
