Areas of Legal Practice The areas of law upon which we focus are: Contract disputes Divorce/Family law Personal Bankruptcies Personal injury lawsuits Social Security disability claims Wills Workers’ compensation claims Contract disputes As an experienced litigator, we work with businesses, commercial entities and individuals with civil disputes. These disputes can range from simple buy / sell disputes between individuals, to more complex litigation between corporations. Personal Bankruptcies Unfortunately, the loss of a job or a major illness can result in the accumulation of debt from which recovery seems impossible. When debt becomes overwhelming, and the income is not forthcoming, it sometimes becomes necessary to start over by filing a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. We will assist individuals with the necessary legal work for a Chapter 7 or “clean slate” bankruptcy. For this service, our law firm charges a flat fee of $650 in addition to the accompanying filing fee (currently $209.00). Wills Many of our family law clients, or those we help with personal injury or Social Security disability claims, also turn to us for their other non-emergency legal needs. We regularly provide simple estate planning services such as the preparation of wills and trusts, or Powers of Attorney. Workers’ compensation claims When employees or professional laborers suffer an on the job injury or injury as a result of their employment, they are due compensation for their medical expenses, lost wages, and in some instances compensation for their pain and suffering. The State of Oregon recognizes that employees are due compensation for repetitive stress injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome. Other injuries may occur in warehouses, manufacturing plants, construction sites and office buildings. Common injuries include back injuries, neck and shoulder injuries, broken bones and soft tissue injuries affecting the joints and muscles of the limbs such as sprains, strains and dislocations.
